MD Anderson’s Gynecologic Oncology Center provides hereditary cancer genetic counseling and genetic testing services for women who have ovarian or endometrial (uterine) cancer and a personal or family history that is suggestive of an inherited cancer predisposition. Genetic counseling is also available for women who have never had ovarian or endometrial cancer but have a significant family history of cancer.

如果你有ovarian cancer, genetic counseling is particularly recommended if you:

• Have ever had breast cancer

• Have two or more relatives who had breast cancer at any age

• Were diagnosed with endometrial cancer before age 50

• Have any close relatives with colon, rectal, or endometrial cancer
• Have a relative who has tested positive for a Lynch syndrome mutation (MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2 genes)
